LOOKING FOR A GREAT CHURCH TO CALL HOME?

Come Connect with God, People and Purpose
at Smithville Nazarene.

Our Church

Picture
The Smithville Church of the Nazarene had its first service on Sunday, January 27, 1963 with Pastor Maurice Evans.  Since that time, we have had nine pastors with Trent Colwell as our current Lead Pastor.  We dedicated our current building in 1978 and completed a major remodel in 2017.

Although our church started out very modest, we have prospered by the hard work and perseverance of our faithful members, and today we are known in Smithville as a church that loves and accepts everyone just as they are!

Worship Ministry

The heart of our church congregation is the Sunday morning worship service.
Smithville Nazarene services are a celebration of all that God is doing in our lives
and are opportunities for those in attendance to respond in praise and thanksgiving to the Lord.
We come together as a family to glorify God and encourage you to come worship with us.
It is our prayer that you leave each worship experience lifted up in your spirit
and encouraged to walk with Christ in the power of His Grace.
“O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker.”  Psalms 95:6

Music Ministry

Youth Ministry

Our Music Ministry is an important part of worship
at Smithville Nazarene.
In our services we feature Contemporary Christian music, traditional hymns and lively gospel songs during congregational singing.
Our church is blessed to have gifted singers
and skillful musicians who participate in our ministry
each week. It is our goal to present music that glorifies
and ministers to those who worship with us.
“Serve the Lord with gladness;
come before his presence with singing.” Psalm 100:2
The Youth Ministry of Smithville Nazarene
is a welcoming place for youth as they grow in the Christian faith.  We are committed to the journey with our youth groups as we learn, serve, grow, and love together. We are proud to provide a nurturing environment through various purpose-filled activities, much planning and many dedicated volunteers as we strive to provide the best youth ministry possible for the glory of God.

“Train up a child in the way he should go:
and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6

Our Outreach Ministry

We believe that as Christians, we are to be the hands and feet of God.  Outreach is an important part of our mission.
We are continually looking for ways that we can be a servant of Jesus.
Some Outreach programs we have participated in during the 2019 Calendar Year include:
  • Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child Shoe Box Ministry
  • Our Elementary Children’s Program – Escape
  • ‘Dinner in December’ with an emphasis on inviting non-members
  • Fall Harvest Celebration specifically targeting our neighborhood
  • Thanksgiving Outreach Dinner
  • Bus Service to and from Church on Sunday and Wednesday
  • Vacation Bible School – open to all children
  • Participation in the Walk to Emmaus, Journey and Chrysalis experience
  • Adult, Youth and Elementary study programs
“Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20
